Seeking Solutions, Healing & Answers
To be honest, I never meant to get into counseling, nor did I want to be a therapist. I thought it would be boring, sitting at a desk listening and talking all day. But when I took a position being a therapist to adults with intellectual disabilities, I fell in love with working with people and helping them find solutions to problems and healing for hurts. I did this for 5 years before I realized that I needed to start my own healing process.
In my own personal therapy journey, I’ve learned so much more than I could ever imagine. Until then, I never realized how much toxic shame and trauma could affect us. Trauma and shame work together to keep people bound, defeated, and unable to see and achieve their true potential. I see my calling as someone helping others to understand, accept, heal and move beyond the past traumas.
Ultimately, I have a passion for seeing people set free from the demons of trauma, and I’m devoted to working with individuals that have suffered sexual, emotional, psychological, religious, and physical traumas. Feelings of grief, depression, anxiety, relational issues, and struggles with faith can surface as a result of trauma. My hope is that as we work together, we will find solutions to problems, healing for your mind, body, and emotions, and answers to questions for which you have been seeking. Whether or not you are a person of faith, life can be complex, and having an outside perspective and tools based on faith and/or science can also be helpful.
I would truly enjoy working with you to find the person you were designed to be before being negatively impacted by life situations. Through counseling, hope, healing, peace, and a new sense of purpose are achievable. Let me help you go from surviving to thriving because when you are merely surviving, you cannot dream.
